J. R. Sharma Girls Teacher Training College was established on September 18, 2006. This college is affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University and is accredited by the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE). This college is an education project of Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti (RBKS).
Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti, a voluntary organization working in the field of education and social development since 1981, has completed 40 years of its establishment in the month of July of this new millennium.
Desiring socio-cultural change, hardworking teacher Shri Jivatram Sharma established a primary school in 1981 and laid the foundation of Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti. Continuing on the same foundation laid by the tireless efforts of Jivatram Sharma, the dedicated team of teachers and social workers associated with the institution achieved the dream of achieving the visionary goal from primary education to post-graduate education. By giving social assistance to the villagers, they can be transformed into a self-reliant citizen, so that they can become self-reliant and self-sufficient in building a complete life. This thinking established the institution as a multi-faceted and broad-minded institution.
Established in August 1999, J. R. Sharma P. G. College Jhadol is a remarkable endeavour to facilitate higher studies locally, which is affiliated to Mohanlal Sukhadia University.
Among the educational activities and projects being conducted by Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti at present are: 11 colleges, higher secondary schools (arts, science and commerce), upper primary schools, tribal girl’s hostels, girl’s education training colleges. There are nursing colleges, homeless children’s homes, educational campuses, 50 non-formal education centers, 4 special child labor schools, infant care centers, kindergardens, cultural development programs, etc.
The Government of Rajasthan has rewarded the Rajasthan Bal Kalyan Samiti by providing Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Service Award and Certificate of Appreciation for the creative and remarkable contribution and role in the field of education.
Apart from the educational activities, the main objective of the programs being run under the ‘Rural Development Project’ run by the institution is the complete development of the rural community.
Thus at present the institution has 7 schools, 12 colleges, 18 hostels, 15 rural development centres, water catchment in 875 villages, rural community development, women awareness, rural sanitation, Awala wadi programs for 1000 families etc. is operating.
